F.O.O.T is the brand of the project “HOST – The Heritage of Olive Tree for Sustainable Tourism” – COS-TSUST-2014-3-15, which has received funding from the COSME programme of the European Union. The aim of the project is to jointly promote four Mediterranean regions as tourist destinations for running enthusiast through the organisation of sport events. The four regions share the olive tree as common heritage. The brand F.O.O.T identifies a unique transnational tourism product including four running sports events: the Monti Pisani Trail (Italy), the Banka Koper Istrian Marathon (Slovenia), the Żejtun Marathon (Malta), the Lesvos Island Trail (Greece). HOST has an overall budget of 233.990 euro (of those 75% are made available by the EC) and last 18 months. HOST has started its activities the 1st of June 2015.
