The Monti Pisani Trail is a trail running competition following the hiking paths of Monte Pisano, the mountain range that separates Pisa from Lucca, in the heart of Tuscany.
Two routes – 26,5 km and 45,5 km – are available to choose from, to put yourself to the test by setting off on an exciting exploration of the local area and its cultural heritage. Surrounded by the characteristic Tuscan countryside, the trail unfolds among terraced olive groves held up by dry-stone walls, taking you on a tour of the hidden gems of the historical and artistic heritage of Pisa, such as Romanesque parish churches, Medieval citadels and ancient monasteries.
Once you get to the top, you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of the city from above, all the way down to the coastline and the islands of the Tuscan archipelago!
The 2016 edition of the Monti Pisani Trail was a great success, read the full report!
